Slug Game
Re: Slug Game
Aren't the big fat ones a bit slippy? And sticky? Yuck.
Re: Slug Game
I don't envy you the job of cleaning out the mudguards (need sick face emoticon).

Re: Slug Game
We did a lot of slug dodging in Denmark this year. In woodland areas they come out to browse on the tarmac, get run over, then the grieving relatives come out to have a snack.... There were hundreds of the bloomin' things.
I can confirm that scraping this stuff off your bike is not entirely enjoyable.

Re: Slug Game
I sometimes wonder how slugs still exist, I must run over at least five live ones per journey and the majority of the overall total I see have already been squashed before I get there and my Grandma and her gardening buddies have been at war with them since long before I was born.
I suspect they just appear from nowhere. As one is killed, there's a 'ping' and suddenly theres a new, fully formed, yet slightly bewildered slug somewhere else.

Re: Slug Game
Outside of horticulture, slugs perform a vital function in breaking down detritus.
I did catch and release with dozens of garden slugs this year.
I also don't automatically kill the flying insects that seem drawn to me.

Eeeeewwwww!
When I'm camping I often leave my boots in the tent porch, and more than once I've stuffed my foot into them in the morning and found a big slug already in there...

Camping? Slugs? How about when you put your trangia away at the end of the last summer's camp and on getting it out the following Easter you find inserted within it a slug that appears to have expanded up to fill the available space and then exploded?
