MTB Size

Post by catonabike »

Hi - looking to get a MTB from Decathlon - just a cheapo to start off with see if I enjoy it.

I have found a bike I like - the Rockrider 520 from Decathlon but have no idea what size to get.

They have a chart with loads of measurements which I have attached, but it may as well be in Japanese for all I know.

I am 6ft tall, pretty ape like arms. Inseam 84.3cm

Hi,
I am a similar shape and size so its "L" you won't go wrong.
Its not like the cross bar will hit your bits with sloping TT

Mmmmmm that's a proper MTB, is it a 29er?
"M" would still fit..............wheel base is enormous.

This is "L" but actual dims are between you M & L I still need bars extensions for getting down with a whopping stem :? , reach is 35 mm more than your L set up in table.
If you are going to ride with bars up round your ears :) then take you pick, try in shop for sure.

Sounds like you are like me - between the M and the L in most manufactures sizes

Both my bikes are M (18") running long stems (90mm on the Decade) (110mm on the GT Avalanche)

I could have got away with a L on the GT with a shorter stem, because my size/ape index is so borderline

Best thing to do is to try one on for size.
