Hi all,
I have just moved to Spain and need to make some tyre changes.
In the UK i always use Nobby Nics as living in the Quantocks its was always muddy !.
Over here it is mostly dry, gravely, rocky and lots and lots of uphill
Want to start doing some local marathons so would like some advise.
Also i'm 110kg so tyre pressure advise would be great.
Thanks in advance

Re: Tyres and pressures
I swapped my Nobby Nics for Big Bens for the same reason and pleased I did. I run them at 35/40.
I am 75kg though so you may need a little more pressure.

http://mtb.ubiqyou.com/ and http://www.dorkypantsr.us/bike-tire-pre ... lator.html are two tyre pressure calculators which you might like to try.

Re: Tyres and pressures
Hi , thanks for the responses.
Not sure abouth the Big Ben tyres are they are just for road use.
I will still be going off road for most of the time, at the moment i have a set of Maxus Ardent Race and a set of Nobby Nics. trying to figure out which are the best for dusty / gravelly conditions and lots of uphill work .
Tyre pressures are pretty spot on as been running 43psi on the back and 40psi on the front.

Probalby it's best to go to your local bike shop and ask their advice on what works in their experience.
Re: Tyres and pressures
I asked Schwalbe about tire pressure and total bike weight ( I am 105 kg) and their response was, the closer to the max weight limit, the closer to max pressure you want to be. I've had my share of snake bites, so I listened to them. If you want to go at lower pressure, I suggest getting the widest tire that will fit.
I wish it were as easy as riding a bike
