I’ve done all my cycling , for a little over 2 yrs now, using V8s including a LEJOG. I can honestly say I’ve seen no damage to the soles of anything I’ve used.
I imagine a soft spongey sole might deteriorate with the pins but would you use that type of sole for walking?
Take a look at these LaSportiva soles. They’ve done 15 months of cycling and walking I can see no pin damage.

Hi Guys,
Sorry for the delayed response! Thanks for all the comments and recommendations
I only have flat peddles, don't want to use clips or anything. I was was looking at these, mainly for price, waterproof features, fairly flat grip and breathable, what do you think?

I think id rather test out something cheap first before looking at spending more

I need some new walking shoes, and was just looking at those!
It's very hard to know what they'd be like on pedals because flexibility of the sole is so important when pedalling and varies so much between shoes. Might they let you try them round the block?
