Having done the King Alfred's Way last September in the blazing heat, and really loving it, I fancy doing more long distance bikepacking routes.
So much so, while taking some time out of work this summer, I have been organizing myself to do the whole Great North Trail.
I travel on a hardtail MTB, solo, wild camping.
However, the Scottish Governments vague lockdown exit strategy has put some doubt on this. I want to depart mid May so that I finish before the midges become too unbearable.
I also spend a lot of time/effort filming these trips for a Youtube channel, so need a B&B about once a week to charge everything up - I would like to take my time and do it over 3 weeks if not more.
As hospitality in Scotland may still be closed by then- I need a plan B and the Dorset 330 appeals.
Has anyone done it and what did you think?
Thanks
