went out for a spin this morning in readiness for this.

Done bits of it...can well believe that quite a lot is currently under water!

I did it a couple of Novembers ago. It is a bit prone to boggyness so you might want to wait a bit. Also make sure you get to Dovey Junction in good time on your last day or you'll be snookered (read stuck in Shrewsbury overnight). Ask me how I know, go on...

If you have plenty of time then you can extend the route a bit - do it W to E and at the end jump onto the Jack Mytton Way until you get to Ray's Farm (N of Bewdley) then use the route in the Dave Taylor book that fetches you all the way onto the Rea Valley track into the centre of Birmingham and you can take your pick of trains home at New St. Makes a very nice coast to centre ride.

We're probably gonna wait til May to do it. We'll be on roughstuff tourers,wild camping so we won't be racing. More than likely we'll get to Aberystwyth on a weekend so we can get somewhere for the night so we can replenish our calories(beer,steak,etc.). Followed by a very long days cycle home to Llanelli.

any recommendations for best tyres for trip?
