Mountain Biking in Hertfordshire

Please can anyone tell me where there are some good areas in Hertfordshire for mountain biking.

I can tell you that there are no mountains in Hertfordshire

Maybe not 'good', but at least 'not bad'. There are some sections of the Chilterns in Hertfordshire, for example around Berkhamsted. Have a look at this route: https://www.strava.com/routes/9936530.

The other area worth trying is West and South West of Hitchin. I've only been to that area on the road, but there are quite a lot of bridlepaths,

Depends what you want of course. I did a quick Google, which might give you some ideas. Just outside the County, there's purpose built facility at Rowney Warren, near Shefford in Bedfordshire. And for easier riding there are old railways from Hatfield to St Albans, Hertford towards Welwyn, Hemel Hempstead to Harpenden, and south of Luton past Harpenden to Welwyn.
