Postby David1967 » 19 Aug 2019, 7:06pm

I am hopeful that I will be doing the rat race 'the crossing' next year 2020, I'll need insurance, as a member am I already covered,as I'll need documentation as proof.

What type of insurance is required by the event ?

Cycling UK insurance covers third-party liability only and may exclude off-road events.
I used to know where to find this on Cycling UK website . . . but now I don't. Sorry.

"You are covered while cycling in sportive, touring competitions, reliability events, Audax events, time-trials and in record breaking.
You are not insured for any other form of competitive cycling."

So, is the event a form of competitive cycling, and if it is, does it fit any of these 6 categories above? Third party cover only, so as above need to see what cover the organisers require.

As it’s not a race ( specifically states that) I’d think you’d be covered.
