Shane Sutton ... Top Chap...

Postby AlKalli » 14 Nov 2019, 8:21pm

I have a great deal of respect for Shane Sutton (SS).
I'm a " no gods, no heroes " sort of person .
But i have respect for SS.
Possibly a difficult man to work with, but with more positive results than negative.
Positive comments from riders seem to outweigh the negative ones.
So he's not perfect ...
Neither am I.
Neither are you.

But i feel that supporting him is a positive choice.
Shame he no longer supports GB & NI cyclists .......... directly ..

Should the door for a return to GB & NI coaching be opened to him ??

Hi,
Will the door open is the question?
I have not followed it that closely, isn't the jury still out?

On Freeman ...

Not Sutton ... he's not committed, or been accused of committing, any offence, moral or legal.

We've had him as our chief guest back in the 90's. He's a good speaker and he could take a joke too. He also led a club training ride, apparently jumping on his bike for the first time for about three years and gave a very motivational informal post-race talk. He also led a WCU training ride on a foul winter's day and was the life and soul in the bar in the evening. I've seen some of the comments attributed to him and read Pendleton's book but my experience of the man is quite positive but he's probably needed some PR & HR training along the way.
