gaz's day trip to find the truth.
Sometimes the best way to find the real answers is to get out on your bike, explore and report your findings to the forum.
So I decided it was time to go to the World's End and see what it's like. I reckoned that the trip would best be made in summer as I'm told it gets a bit nippy towards the end of the year. First step was to catch the boat.
The journey was much shorter than I'd expected. Having disembarked I set off and it wasn't long before I found what I'd come to see.
As I explored a little further it became clear that the Wall has been there a long time and it's been added too over the years.
There you have it folks, there really is a Wall at the World's End.

There was a clear military presence in the area.
The insignia suggest it is British teritory, claimed by Charles II.
I could tell you what's on the other side of the wall but from what I've read I'd probably be locked up, shot or something worse .

You didn't find an apostrophe at the world's end.
I wonder why? Maybe they'd all been used up that far away.
BTW, there was a strong military presence at this place when I was there.

Did it occur to you as strange how may abandoned bikes there were over there?
The older I get the more I’m inclined to act my shoe size, not my age.

Inspired by this post I decided to go and find the end of the world as well.

Gaz, at low tide, just along the sea wall towards the sewage works, you can take the steps down to the lower path (seawards direction) and take the coastal path along to Coalhouse Fort, and on the way encounter hundreds of Victorian glass and earthen ware bottles / jars, etc, as it was a dumping ground for such, 'in olden days' . TIP! wear gloves if rummaging, it is 300 yds from the sewage works after all, but usually a couple of bottle diggers at work.
Re: gaz's day trip to find the truth.
Over thirty years since I last visited Coalhouse Fort, even longer since I took the riverbank to get there.
Bloody Victorians, polluting the seas with their single use earthenware.

There is, or was a World's End boozer in Pudsey. Until they moved to purpose-built studios, it was a watering-hole for the cast of Emmerdale (The indoor sets used to be in a former mill nearby in nearby Farsley.)

Google suggests that the name may have been changed to "Drink in Brighton," a bit nearer than any of the ends of the Earth but still a good 250 miles.

I'm here, in the living room, in our house, in Cornwall.
I was born in North Wales even though I'm of Lancashire heritage though have a Welsh birth certificate. Dad had a job based in Chester as a travelling salesman and he and Mum bought a small house in Gwynfryn (west of Wrexham up in the hills). My sister went to the local school but we moved back to Lancashire when I was nearly three. I have some memories of living in Wales but not many.
We used to go back there from time to time to visit people, and we holidayed in N Wales too. My sister has been living in N Wales for 40years or more.
