Got a puncture the other day and my trusty & old frame pump was'nt able to produce enough puff to inflate the rear tyre.
It's just worn out and there's no compression. No great surprise as it must have inflated many tyres over several years.
SJS cycles sell a repair kit for less than £5.
Anyone have any experience of these kits, do they fix an old pump or should I just buy a new pump ?
thanks,
Tony

The Blackburn kits are only for Blackburn pumps. When you say 'trusty and old frame pump' does that mean it is not a Blackburn? If so, all you may be looking for is a leather washer as in the very last item in the SJSC pumps spares section on page 6 at 99p. Unless things have changed down there, the SJSC postal charge would make it pretty uneconomic to buy just this from there.
It's the sort of thing that once-upon-a-time you could have bought in any bike shop. In fact, if it has got a leather washer, it may just have dried out. A dab of vaseline may well do the trick.
