ITM 260 PRO Ergal 7075 bars and Tektro RL520 issues

Hi all

I'm struggling to get this combination to work on my tourer. I'm used to a more flat transfer from ramp to hood and these bars definately give a more of a steep ramp before the levers. If I try and set the ramp with less steepness by rotating the bars, the drops are not sufficiently horizontal to be usable. I may change these bars out at some point but at the minute this is what I have to work with. Any advice on how to set them up properly would be greatfully received!

given your preference for flat ramps, you have two main choices;

1) chuck 'em in the bin
or
2) learn to live with drops that are stupidly angled.

Next time you go shopping for handlebars I bet you don't buy another set like that!

BTW if they were 6000 series I'd fancy my chances of resetting the shape of the bars, but not in 7075.

Like Brucey said, there isn't much you can do.
You really have to dispose those bars if you're not happy, apart from the fact that handlebar shape should never be altered, those in particular are heat-treated and very rigid; also they have a terrible cross-section shape that is not great unless you go for thick bar tape.

Trying to move the levers up would result in the brake lever blade going way too far from the drop section, thus you will be safe only staying on the hoods.

What size bar clamp? If 26 mm, your choice of bars is limited. Nitto to M106 NAS looks best to me. I have Soma Hwy 1s, and they're OK, but like the Easton EA70s better, but that means a quill adapter and a threadless stem.
