Alternate ways of mounting front lights

My fork is bladed but the light attaches easily with its rubber O ring. The light also pivots so you can position it to point at different distances from the wheel.

Keeping lights around handlebar height in my experience means they don't get so dirty. Also I think around that height is best for visibility ie as regards being seen, but that's just an opinion.

I wonder if anyone makes a quality bell/light combination that takes up one space bell above and light under.

I think fork crown mounting is my favourite location. It's where most dynamo front lights go, and it works with battery lights too. Can be fiddly or impossible to set up, though, depending on your specific arrangement of bolt holes, bolt length, mudguard mounts, brake cables (esp. cantilever or V-brake) and whatnot.

Bar fitted extenders are ok as long as you have a level section of handlebar to fix it to. If the handlebars are shaped (as most so called flat bars are) then it is better to find a more suitable fixing point in order that the light is held straight.
