AVATAR ? Not possible to post one!!
AVATAR ? Not possible to post one!!
Who the hell designed this site? I'm no fool when it comes to posting photos or an Avatar - but this site got me beat! Tinny square photo (smallest I can reduce to) and this site wouldn't accept it.
I now realise why there's no own photo avatars on CUK.
just tried to use this as my avatar > in a 150-150 square. no-chance

Try going to 120x120 and less than 20k.
Too large and they start slowing everybody down (as many may need to be downloaded for every page!).

If you have a photo you want to use, go to this site. It works.

This site is probably allergic to Tin, can you do one with just steel plate?
Re: AVATAR ? Not possible to post one!!
The size has to be 80x80 and 6k limit I believe.
At the last count:- Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X3, Raleigh 20 stowaway, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840

The phpBB community.
It's not perfect, but it does the job pretty well, and you can't complain about the price!

I've tried mine, that works okay on other forums, & is already about 120 x 120, but it won't load

Are you sure?
I'm going to change my avatar back but in case you missed it...
(file nabbed from gaz's fix earlier in the thread)
There's going to be detail lost from the original file and the portrait aspect ratio of it isn't the best when you are limited to a small square - your horizontal pixel count is only 64% of the amount allowed.
Edit: - Oops! Just realised that you are not the OP, Richard. Apologies to both you and Moss

As well as physical size of 80x80 pixels a small file size is important, for which jpeg format is your friend.
