cateye mity 2

Post by nick1854 »

I just tried to fit my ancient cycle computer (new in 1994) to a new bike with fatter handle bars. The holder is marked "bracket model G", opening looks to be an inch. Sensor is model E. Bars on my new bike are 31.8 mm. Is there a holder I can use to make this work? Is there one in your spares box you don't need?

Thanks

Can you remove the screw bolt that clamps the bracket closed and replace it with a very narrow zip tie, effectively lengthening the bracket?

Thanks gaz.

Worth checking SJS Cycles carefully (they have a lot of Cateye spare parts) and eBay.

Whatever you do, don’t get rid of that Mity 2! It’s my favourite computer of all time. An essentially perfect product in a world of bad design.

Thanks Samuel. I won't get rid of it for exactly that reason......I had though of buying something new and shiny but it works well and does everything I need it to.
