Lejog for wimps please- or am I on my own? ( merged )

I dont think there is a Lejog for wimps. You have to be pretty hardy to ride it on a motorbike, never mind a cycle.

But I am glad I have read this post. i am 60 next year and my young lady has already reached that milestone. We have talked about Lejog before. It is posts like this that make you realise that you had better get on with it before time runs out.

Following this thread with interest. 50 this year and only started cycling last September but riding in a club and loving it. Dates dependant I'd love to be involved. Just wondering about asking my wife to support in the campervan.

Hi Rob thanks for your interest and help.Having just told all the registered riders the date of the ride We need to sort things amongst ourselves before casting the net any further.All is going well at the moment with riders booking time off work and looking forward to next year

How big is this ride going to get? When Landsurfer and I started Wimps Lejog I expected four maybe five riders. Since posting the date eight riders have confirmed their participation and three have yet to respond.Looks like Landsurfer judged the demand better than I have

Sounds like we are in agreement then.

I was saying that some riders have come though here, not knowing anything about anything.
They didn't know where they were or where they were going next, and had no appreciation of the navigation or the area.
No research .......... no nothing.

You see that in everything.
If you are a bit of a loner it would be stupid not to have planned and thus navigate.
Some are just happy following, I would like that too sometimes.
I don't always have to be in front, some do take it to the extreme too.
I see what you are saying and I could not feel happy if I did not know where I was heading, think the ones who would not do it alone will be happy just to follow.

Just found this thread.I would be potentially interested if there is still room! Was hoping to do this year and for the last two, but I don't think it is going to happen. Caught between doing it solo or with a group. This idea sounds good.
