That's a tough one, but it has to be Blair. He put a lot more money into the NHS and schools.

blair, lesser evil.
Re: Make Your choice of Political leader
At least I was happy when we had Blair
Life was so bitter and divided, created huge turmoil to family life as we knew it under The evil Thatcher.
Or maybe it's always like that under a Tory gov?

Well one's dead, so where's the choice?

Whatever you think of her l think Thatcher was sincere in what she believed and lived her life, including after leaving office to that code. Blair is far more of a chancer, far more out for 'what he could get' both in political terms and after leaving the political arena.
It is interesting that both were/are convinced Christians, as is Tim Farron. Makes you wonder if that type of belief helps you justify, in your own mind, the rightness of your cause.

I thought something like that, but then I asked myself, "how would Thatcher have reacted to George W Bush's War of Terror?", and the answer is, of course, that she would have been all for it, and as uncritical of the US as she always was. And she had the added sin of regarding Mandela as a terrorist and Pinochet as a friend! Blair also fostered increasing dialogue and finally agreement and peace with the old enemy, the IRA. I couldn't see Thatcher doing that.
Re: Make Your choice of Political leader
On the basis of choosing the lesser evil, I would take Blair over Thatcher, but I'm glad it's not a real choice.

On the other hand... there might be some advantages to having a dead political leader.
