I am very pleased!

Post by odpshane »

I asked a question about a week ago about which style of bike to go for and after much thinking I have changed my plan slightly. I have bought a used Cube peloton to try while I save some more for my new bike. I wanted to try a road bike as I have only had experience of MTB's.

I rode to work today for the first time on it and took it pretty easy. Had a mess around with some settings en route and took it really slowly over the gravel section that I use. It took me about one minute longer to get here although my mac speed was 12mph faster than anything previously achieved!

Whether it is a bonus or not I am unsure yet but I am not out of breath at all upon arrival (obviously I need to work harder!) if I am using this to get fitter I am going to have to work up more of a sweat! I have lost 3kg since starting riding again and have another 8kg to go.

Just thought that I would post up and say how much fun I am having and I guess that is the purpose of it all!

Thanks for listening
Shane

May I be the first to say that you have bought an entirely inappropriate bike and that you need to immediately cease riding.

...as is sometimes the tradition on here

(but secretly I'm pleased for you, of course  )

There's no point cycling if it isn't fun, coz then it's just work.

Also :)
I am just back to cycling myself.
I have been struggling with discomfort and at last (after much help) went for a smashing cycle today.

Hard to explain what it is that puts a smile on your face isn't it?

WE LOVE CYCLING!

I made 33 mph today which I know isn't the fastest ever but it's not bad for my route and a newbie?!?!

I am going out tomorrow for a proper ride and will see what happens then!
