Split mudguards with eyelets for 700 x 28 mm

Post by slogfester »

Are there any split-mudguards that will fit a bike (Van Nicholas Yukon) WITH eyelets and 700 x 28 mm tyres? There is not enough clearance to get full large mudguards under my brake calipers (up to 25 mm tyres are fine), but I do have eyelets front and back.
I can only find this type which attach to the forks with a strap. I presume these would be inferior to those attached to the eyelets?

Giant do some for their DEFY frame which have cut outs for the brakes. They say suit tyres 23-28 :-

The Defy frame though has quite angled rear stays and the geometry may not suit you?
You'll never know if you don't try it.

Thanks.
In the end I managed to squeeze a wider standard SKS mudguard in.
Seems there is a market opportunity going begging, given the increased popularity of wider tyres
