Ivor Cutler was eccentric and funny( well if you like that humour ). I like his shoplifters below, they play his series on radio 4 extra every now and again.

Mike Oldfield, Crises, Deluxe Edition ...
Which is basically another best of MO completion.
Crises is special for me ...
I first listened to it on my way back from the Falklands ... on my second tour.
First tour was as a ships gunner on the RFA Sir Lancelot during the war.
Went home in the September after the war had ended and ... 10 months later was part of the RAF Phantom support team with FIAGDE, Phandet and later 23 SQN.
The way home.
On Sir Lancelot ...again .... she limped to Ascension on one engine.. we arrived in 2 weeks .. Wessex Helio took us off to a waiting VC10 for the trip home to Brize ...
Possibly a better trip than the outward journey .. VC10 to Dakar in Africa then to Ascension, and then the 17 hour flight to RAF Port Stanley .. yes 17 hours ... in flight refuel and the weather ... when we landed we had "Herc Lag" ... took me 2 days to stop vibrating ...
Crises is the theme of my second tour in the Falklands ....
Once we where warriors ... eh MickF ..........
Got back to the UK on December the 24th .....
And so many want a career in Accounting and IT these days ...... .... WHY ???....

This is a first for me (not KR) watching a livecast from a live concert. Tickets are £7 which I think is a good buy. Surround sound, fire on and a drink in the hand looks like being a good night.

Kate Rusby is doing another live cast this Friday from the Storyhouse Chester. Last years was excellent.
Nearly bought tickets to see her in Carlisle but £50 and a 70 ml drive put me off. Pleased I held off now, £7 and my own fireside.

The Pentangle "Bruton Town".
Our streets are littered with expensive, rotting and polluting tin cans obstructing the free passage of pedestrians, horses, cyclists and motor vehicles

Apropos of Kate R, we were very disappointed when we saw her last. The arrangements from her husband (Damien O'Kane) aren't a patch on the McCusker era ones.

I will agree with that and one of the reasons I wouldn’t shell out £25/ ticket. John McCusker excels anywhere he plays. Watching Mark Knofler concert on YouTube the other night and JM was playing. We still enjoyed her concert though and for £7 I’m in.

I remember seeing Kate Rusby sing 'The Yorkshire Couple' back in the 90's at Cambridge Folk Festival,a song with a punchline!
Excellent performer. She said 'well sung' to the audience there as well. This video must be from about that time.

I also remember The Rankin Family from about that time at Cambridge ,they're from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia you can't beat
families singing together. They still speak a form of Scottish Gaelic in Cape Breton.Magic band live.

R2, I liked the Huun-Huur-Tu, a good explanation of the throat singing in the middle as well, I tried a bit of that myself this morning,
tricky. that KEXP looks a good channel.NPR music 'Tiny Desk' concerts are a good live performance channel on youtube if you haven't
come across them already. Here's their latest offering with Randy Newman.
