Donald Trump has publicly rebuked Theresa May over her criticism of anti-Muslim propaganda, opening an extraordinary diplomatic spat between the transatlantic allies.

But No 10 insists Trump's State Visit is to go ahead! I actually hope it happens sooner rather than later (though in reality I doubt it would make much difference) - the Gov's attempts to hide Trump from the public protests, the Queen being friendly (shows our Royal Family for what they really are) and the protests that are bound to be significant. Give the UK an opportunity to show how they feel about Trump and I'm sure those protests would get a prominent coverage in the US as well.

Just heard a report about the republican conference in Maryland
Apparently the republicans were a bit shocked when they chose him as candidate, but now he is very very popular (I don't trust the radio station but this seems plausible)
He has a good chance of a second term if his health holds out!

Many democrats are putting themselves forward for the primaries, many months fighting among friends for the chance to fight the enemy

About two weeks ago Josh Glancy, a British journalist in the USA, wrote about the Americans inability to make and serve tea as the British would do it (other nationalities are available). The method he described Americans using was pretty much as in her video.

Americans don't use milk in their tea. If you ask for tea with milk in the US, you will get a cup of (weak) Lipton and a glass of milk. They might very well microwave the water, but then they stick the tea bag in it straight away. They might leave the tea bag in while they drink it, but they don't add milk. I promise.

Restaurant often serve little teapots of steaming water instead of a mug of tea, but still, no milk.
