Sounds most like a tree creeper

Nuthatches behave similarly but are larger, and more colourful.

I chose the smallest car I could find. It has four seats, mind, and a tiny boot, and it turns on a sixpence (is that phrase still current?)

Had a lot of snow yesterday, had to walk my bike part of the way home, more snow is expected
Got an appointment on the other side of town tomorrow, I plan to walk (7 km), really looking forward to it. Walking is just the most *reliable* way to get from A to B

I do love the 'save draft' function on these fora. It lets one formulate ones thoughts, put them aside awhile, and maybe tone them down before posting, so one may avoid annoying anyone (too much)

Did my good deed today (yesterday I did two )
I parked my bike next to a Tern folder which I proceeded to examine. I saw that one of the front wheel nuts was very loose, I could see a gap between it and the dropout. Took out my spanner, tightened it and checked the other one

Need to get someone a birthday present soon
I am not so good at making things, baking, sewing
So I bought a little notebook, on each page I enscribe a short quotation, saying, piece of wisdom, taken from the many I have already noted or even dreamed up myself

Re: A positive thread
This thread is doing well
I've been suffering from a really bad back this year but starting to slowly make some progress with physio. I have had some problems with it cycling, so was feeling some trepidation setting off for a 34 mile ride on my carbon road bike - which has quite an aggressive geometry - and wondering how my back would fare. Pleased to report it was fine! Plus it was a lovely ride. Spring-like conditions, light winds, and I didn't have a single close pass which is a record! Traffic was fairly light and most vehicles gave me a wide berth and one car even gave me priority at a pinch point. I'd been keeping up my winter fitness with running - which strangely enough my back doesn't seem to mind - so felt really good on the bike and flew along!

+1, I was getting a bit lonely here
Did my longest ride of the year so far today, 42 km, did not notice the weather (until recently it has been cold), lovely colours, grey, brown, mono
-1, too many speedygonzales about (e-bikes)

Re: A positive thread
Spotted an unusual death notice in the newspaper yesterday, printed in colour, framed with stars and hearts
'Our mother, grannie, great grannie has gone to the world of love and peace
We down here are sad - up there happiness reigns'
One often reads positive things about the deceased but I have not seen one like this before

Prynhawn da!
That's a lovely story.
I had another great ride this morning, 37 miles this time. It was glorious weather here in north Bucks. Colder than yesterday to begin with but soon warmed up and nice and sunny. Back behaved itself again. Drivers were courteous on the whole (there was one idiot who pulled out in front of me and obviously didn't see me), there was an ambulance going very fast with its blue and twos going. I was on the roundabout at the time so obviously held back to let her go through, and the driver put her hand up to thank me! Lots of birds including kites, chaffinches and a redwing. Plus a diversion meant I discovered a lovely little village that I hadn't been to before
