India: Anyone with experience of cycling on the NH66?

I am pretty sure that there is some forum member who has cycled the West coast of India, in particular the section between Mangaluru (previously Mangalore) and Kozhikode (Calicut). It is this section that I seek some information for: Is the NH66 route heavy with truck traffic? Any good alternative route inland? Normally I'd browse on google street view to get an idea but that facility is not available for Google maps India.
