Tracey Emin
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
in your case you can fool only some of the people some of the time, And I aint one of them
The bbc asks what does the latest art piece mean. if you ask that you are already lost?

Re: Tracey Emin
I heard about it on the radio yesterday and was a little bemused, more so now I've seen it as I suppose many other people will be.
But wishing her dead is in a different league and even more bemusing

Each to their own etc. I think the "I want my time....." piece (sic) is just lovely. And while some of her art escapes me, on the odd occasion I've heard her chat I find her delightful.
I can think of many MANY more folk whose death I would find far more satisfying.

Re: Tracey Emin
I like it, very positive, and if it evokes a reaction... well isn't that the point of art? Though I'd prefer to see reaction to the work rather than the artist.
I've seen plenty of art in St Pancrass station, the embracing couple sculpture has a frieze on the plinth that's interesting but not easy to understand. The John Betjeman statue is fantastic and leads one to follow his gaze to the roof, which is probably the finest piece of art there. I think this latest piece replaces a spinning spaceship like thing that was equally liked and loathed. I couldn't make my mind up and I expect the artist would have been happy with that.
St Pancrass is IMO the finest London station (Not just because it's where the Derby trains arrive at and leave from) I welcome those things that make it more than just a point on a journey.

Add a soupçon of my nonplussment to your bemusement.
Isn't art supposed to provoke a reaction in the viewer? I think TE would consider it a job well done in this case.

I'd agree, only to add that controversy in her line of work pays the bills

hence she can fool only some of the people some of the time ( and was laughing all the way to the bank)
I think a poll - which would you prefer to own
a) her un made bed or the Damien Hirst's half a cow in a glass case
the letters on the station quite banal by comparison?
both are anti-art
maybe Damien could do Emin in a glass case cut down the middle?

...which is of course intensely personal, and different from one to another, which makes such categorical statements rather difficult.
In other news, I am happy to report that TE survived the night.
