There has been the offer of two neck braces winging their way to him. Probably wearing one by now.
Earlier they speculated having longer stops in the bad weather could help later in better weather.

It looks as though he was 22 minutes up at Tore roundabout - CP 48. It looks to me as though he may have got through the bad patch. :D

He's just short of the 100 miles to go. Still a long way but I think that's a bit of a psychological boost to tick that off.

It's pretty amazing that we can follow all this from our sofas.

6 hours left and about 90 miles.

So she pushes you from the side to simulate cross winds, but what did she do for your Cornish hills?

So has he already seen a Road sign stating John o'Groats and distance?

That could be a good thing or a bad thing.

G. :(

You can download the gpx of track and route. The route is actual milage on the road. The Track is a line joining periodic points along the road. Therefore the track will be showing less miles.

I’ve also discovered if you go back into the rider tab and click on his name you get a whole load more info.

he still looks shaky the last few tracks have been around the 16mph mark. Lost about 4mph since sunset.

He should just be passing this about now I think.

It doesn’t get dark up there does it?
Still light here in Sth of Scotland.
I just hope he can stay warm and does make it. I doubt he’ll turn around for the 1000 though.

At CP 49 he was 22 minutes up, the same advantage as at CP 48. I interpret that as maintaining the scheduled speed at this point but in front because of the advantage built up earlier. From the comfort of my chair, this doesn't look like a rider who's losing his grip. I'm always superstitious about counting chickens but I'm increasingly optimistic here.
