Blackburn Outpost handlebar roll

Post by martin113 »

Has anyone use this bit of kit? http://www.wiggle.co.uk/blackburn-outpo ... ar-roll-1/

Seems to me the drybag that comes with it is going to be too big for a road bike with drops, but the advantage of the harness is you could use your own drybag, even have different sized drybags for winter and summer. The weight is a bit high for bikepacking bags, probably due to the fixed bracket on the bars, but the flexibility of what you put in the harness appeals to me.

Any experiences of using it?

Not used a Blackburn one but do have a Podsac bar bag of similar design, a water proof dry bag in a mount that straps to the bars. The only negative thing I've found with it is that for dropped bars you can't completely fill it as it would then occupy the entire space between the brake levers and therefore not enough room for riding on the hoods.
