German will be, or already is, the biggest language in the EU, right? About 100m people speak it

To surprise people who had underestimated one, she did that many times after Helmut Kohl took her into his team, and after Edmund Stoiber had her for breakfast
Or waiting to see what happens

The "Merkel Raute", the way she holds her fingers together to form a diamond, will be her lasting legacy

Interesting fact about Frau M
Her dad was a pastor, he moved the family to the DDR when more people were going they other way, +1!

I try to avoid using the word "supermarket", there is nothing super about one
"Food store" is correct use IMHO

I love this term.
I thank the cycling community for it.

It translates to so many items in life.
You get tomato shaped objects in the supermarket.
Shoe shaped objects that self destruct shortly after purchase.

Any cheap tool works the same way as they fall apart straight away if they are a screwdriver shaped object.
Someone even gave me some screw shaped objects.

Maybe nothing will change much at all really
