I've done Martial Arts for 42 years(on and off) 3rd Dan Wado-Ryo,1st Dan Freestyle currently Blue Belt in traditional Tae Kwon Do plus dabbled in Aikido/Kung Fu/Kick Boxing and can tell you one thing for sure.Statham has trained in some Martial Art or other.JCVD was also supposed to have had a "dubious" background ie no formal training when he hit the scene in the 80s.
As for Bruce Lee...well there's lots of evidence from both camps regarding his prowess too

The way fight scenes are filmed is constantly changing but it doesn't mean the participant "isn't the real thing".At least they've left the "multiple edits of the the same kick to make it look like 3 jump- spinning hook-kicks with out touching the floor" ala JCVD
