South Downs Way
Anyone riding the SDW next Saturday?
Re: South Downs Way
Several thousand I imagine. Good luck if you are taking part https://www.bhf.org.uk/get-involved/events/bike-rides/south-downs-way-off-road-bike-ride If you are not part of the event it is best to avoid Saturday. I'm still only halfway through my four separate day rides riding from station-to-station along the route.

Thanks I am, really looking forward to it, although it’s going to be a tough day.
Re: South Downs Way
are you doing Buster Hill to Berry Head
Re: South Downs Way
This seems like an effective way to alienate anyone seeking some p and q in the Downs.100 miles offroad is a tougbh challenge, and for many, possibly dangerous given the hot weather. The organiser should be given a meddle.
Re: South Downs Way
Who or what will he be given a meddle with?

Gets a lot of publicity but seems unnecessary to me, there must be quieter ways of raising money and awareness

Cycling-of course, but it is far better on a Gillott

I would rather see a mass readathon where CTC members read backcopies of the CTC magazine-that would be mentally challenging reading about the merits of a dished rear wheel,dia-compe brakes and leather saddles and chafing.

That is what we are already doing, reading these fora
The fora are the new Gazettes
The event may raise a lot of money but it causes a lot of motor traffic and trouble. Besides in the summer health problems are quite likely
I would prefer to take part in the biggest Coffee Morning in the world
Or one could organise a Big Breakfast (Porridge)
