My recent messing around with Campag bits has prompted me to have a deeper look at my semi functioning QS era 10 speed from Ergo.
It won't stay in a low gear, clicking back under cable tension to a smaller sprocket. I had always assumed that the end of the plastic up shift button was worn and thus slipping on teeth at some point. This isn't the case though. That button and its other end doesn't mesh into teeth at all but just lifts a "dog" messes into a toothed gear (thingy)
Undoubtedly experienced Campag strippers will know this . Now that my assumption is proved wrong I must ask what could be slipping? I see no wear anywhere.
Another Campag Ergo question
Re: Another Campag Ergo question
QS is a shift protocol; it does not correspond with a specific construction of the internals, i.e. there are several sets of internals (which are completely different from one another) which are called 'quickshift'. You need to say which year and model you have.
For example this is QS 'escape' which applies to some years veloce and centaur
cheers

Why assume you can see Ergopower wear with your eyes?
You 'see' Ergopower wear in poor shifting. Not really any other way.

I should coco.

See the above. Check that the "ratchet" teeth are clean. Mine started jumping positions when changing gear.

You'll never know if you don't try it.
Re: Another Campag Ergo question
I say Qs to give indication of the era as I have no idea of the exact year.
Would have expected to see something wrong with the teethwitha magnifying glass. They are very clean.
Ah well, back in the junk box with them.
