Thirteen done yesterday.
Total of seventy-three done. :D

Drove to Lostwithiel again to do the area west of the River Fowey.
Very warm day, almost summer-like. Long may it continue. Shorts, sandals, and summer SS top.
The blue wiggly line is the temperature - scale on the right.

That's reverend Hawker territory that is. I shall expect nothing less than a rousing recital of 'Trelawney' when you get there

Got to say I just love your idea Mick. I am going to have to come up with something for myself now.

Back from a 48mile ride up in North Cornwall.
Drove 30miles north to a big layby off the A39, parked up, and off I went.
Ten parish churches done, making a total of 85 so far.

In order and with some doubling back ..........

Marhamchurch
Stratton
Launcells
Kilkhampton
Morewenstow
Poughill
Bude
Poundstock
Jacobstow
St Gennys

Very chilly with a strong northerly wind despite the wonderful bright strong sunshine. I wasn't dressed for the windchill - should have worn longs instead of shorts, and my hands were cold a few times too. Should have worn a wooly hat as well.

All those were our stamping ground when we had a place down tbere. My son and his wife were at Padstow last week. Apparently it was busy in the early evening but when they went up the pub after 9 they were the only customers? My daughters band built a studio on St Merryn airfield and recorded an album there in 1995, its just been re released yesterday in the US as a white vinyl disc. Went for a Christmas meal at Withiel, came out and there was several inches of snow! Been everywhere on that list but not on the bike. Lovely places.

Going east past the southern side of St Merryn Airfield was damned hard work!
Very brisk and cold easterly wind, despite the weather forecast saying it would be a gentle southerly wind.

I was on my way from St Merryn to St Evan, and at St Evan I backtracked to go round the aerial arrays to St Eval. Heading east on those roads was hard work, but going west was a dream! :D
Most of my way back was heading east, and it was a hard slog.

PS
Next trip will be down to Mevagissey. Maybe I can take Mrs Mick F there, and I'll go off and bag more churches whilst she potters about in the town. Dunno when it'll happen. Weather comes into the equation as well as Mrs Mick F fitting it into in her busy schedule. May not happen until December.

This is a first stab at a route, clockwise from Mevagissey. 35miles of a ride.
Nine churches including Mevagissey.

Mevagissey hasn't happened yet, but drove down to Mitchell yesterday - just off the A30. Nice quiet village these days after the new dual carriageway opened. Mitchell used to be a bottle-neck on the Old A30.

Eight parish churches done.
St Newlyn East
St Cubert
Crantock
Newquay
St Columb Minor
Colan
St Enoder
Ladock.

That takes my total to 123 :D
