If there was a zero turnout at the next general election, what then?

If only we could persuade the rest of the country Mick, what a change may take place,however..........

Revolutions have happened throughout history in many many different countries. We had a Glorious Revolution here in this sceptred isle only three hundred years ago ............. not that long ago - historically speaking.

I think that may be irrelevant - although I'm none too hot on my history! As I understand it, the Glorious Revolution was mainly about ousting a Catholic monarch and assuring the predominance of Protestantism. Doing away with absolute monarchy and establishing a Parliamentary democracy (of sorts!) was a secondary objective. Or so I think.

Nothing much to compare with the French, American or Russian examples, anyway.
Suppose that this room is a lift. The support breaks and down we go with ever-increasing velocity.

We were way ahead:
French Revolution - 1789
American Revolution - 1765
Russian Revolution - 1917

We chopped off the King's Head and installed Oliver Cromwell as head of state and head of government of the new "Republic".

Difference is that we changed our minds and Brough back the Monarchy

We then executed Cromwell in 1661, one of a few people to have been executed posthumously !!

Actually it was more like 'having voted for Rexit no one could agree what Rexit actually meant' - sound familiar (I'm sure there was a pamphlet that it said "350 Guineas for Ye Olde Apothecary shop on the side of the carriage"). And then we decided to go back to what we had previously had.
