Why not - how else are you going to get out of the place?

Hee hee - a good mocking job.

The experiences of my yoof, being persecuted by the local "hard lads", taught me that if you can't hit your way free of them the best approach is to mock them. You're going to get beat up anyway so you might as well do so with a good grace, a smile and a wicked riposte to their crude taunts and yells. The worst thing you can do is get hoity-toity about the unfairness of it all. It just encourages them (as seems to be the case with this "newspaper"). They hate to be laughed at.

Perhaps the link to this fine mockery of the sort of "journalist" who spews out these kinds of toxic gobs of bile could be posted en masse to the website forums or other public places of such "newspapers"?

A few years ago our local "Portsmouth News" would regularly shoot itself in the foot, with its keenness to demonise cyclists

My favourite was a picture of an "unlit" cyclist causing danger and havoc at a junction

It was taken at a junction, perfectly positioned in Primary..... the car beside the cyclist did not have lights on either and the one behind him did have lights on, but one was not working.

The letters page for that one was really good fun.

That'll be why the earliest known use of the word was in 1944 - over 20 years before Brent Butt was born.

Take a Stay-cation instead of a Va-cation, this year.
—Cincinnati Enquirer, 18 July 1944

This is the earliest written use we currently have for the word staycation. It was found in a list of “Red-White-And-Blue Reminders” for the month of July—a list that also mentioned Victory gardens and the importance of writing letters to soldiers on the front. Was this in a thoughtful editorial written by an editor supporting the war effort? No: staycation and the list in appeared in were found in a full-page ad for Felsenbrau Supreme beer.

Why not - how else are you going to get out of the place?

There are so many places to visit in Wales, no need to leave the Principality (except when taking the train between north and south via Craven Arms 8))
Just like Lincolnshire

There is talk of reinstalling the railway line from Carmarthen to Aberystwyth that runs through Lampeter, in one part of an effort to have a north-south Welsh rail link. Will it ever happen? Seems unlikely but if it did, the trains would run just a mile away from our new house. I would ride one, to both here and there.

But your posting begs the question why?
