Anyone got a tattoo to mark their LEJOG (or any other cycling endeavour)?
I'm going to get one done - thinking of making the O of LEJOG and the O from 2018 as bike wheels.
Looking for inspiration, any ideas gratefully received!

Re: LEJOG tattoo?
On which part of the body? Would it be your first tattoo? What if you do JoGLE later?

Legs

No, I have 3 already - and getting another one tomorrow. But these are fairly well hidden - upper arms and back.
I want to eventually get tattoos of all my cycle tours and also marathons (2 to date). I've already done two LEJOGS so if I do JOGLE I'll just have to find space for it somewhere

I might run out of space on my legs so will probably use arms

Work wise I probably don't have to worry too much now about them being visible.
Re: LEJOG tattoo?
Is it expensive? Is it painful? What if you want tattoos removed later, what if you give up cycling?
Tattoos are quite normal now but I prefer tattoos of military music

Can be expensive. Today's was £60 not too bad, but more painful than I remember! The worst thing was having to sit through BBC 3 so called comedy that they had on all the TV's. Torture!
I've got a couple of karate tattoos and I gave that up. Nice reminders

Used to collect YHA stamps, they were little pieces of art like postage stamps, at they still issued? I could almost imagine having a tattoo of the stamp from Bryn Poeth Uchaf

Do it!
I had to put my blood soaked T shirt in the wash when I got home! Am I selling it to you?

Re: LEJOG tattoo?
I suppose you could route through Edinburgh. They have a famous tattoo there every August.
Re: LEJOG tattoo?
I got one just before my lejog. Sun moon and stars on my calf. I did it so that I would be reminded of why I was doing the thing - raising dosh for the charity that fights for people with the genetic disorder that my grandson has (Smith Magennis syndrome) It's the components of their logo and also represents what I think of the components of my family. Neat. It's the one and only one I'll ever have.
Re: LEJOG tattoo?
27 years service in the RN and not one single tattoo.
I cannot understand why anyone would want one.
They are there for life, and after a dozen or so years they go grey/blue, no matter what the original colours may have been.
Why would anyone want one?
You name the subject, and I've seen a tattoo of it. You name the part of a body, and I've seen one or more of them there.

Re: LEJOG tattoo?
How about a trace of the route you followed on the back of your leg - it'd look just like a cyclists' varicose vein.
Re: LEJOG tattoo?
Some people have 'ass-antler' tattoos that they can only see using a mirror, what is the point of that?

Care homes of the future will look very odd with all these heavily tattooed geriatric people wandering around
Probably the most useful thing you could have tattooed would be your name and date of birth
