With such a low budget I'd be looking to the second hand market because getting durable stuff at that price is asking a lot. And I'd be training myself to do the maintenance required.

My thinking was not meant to be facetious and I apologise to someone with a genuine concern.

It was because this bike is only 3 months old and does not appear to be fit for purpose: surely it should simply have been refused andgone back to Halfords?

I had a Specialised Sirrus for a few years used it in all weathers and had no mechanical issues, apart from a need to change worn tyres. Used they are going for peanuts on eBay. Here's one that went for £160.00 last week.

An alternative is to not buy a bike at all and use a hire one. last time i was in Newcastle it was awash with Mobikes and I think you can get a three month pass for £50. Let someone else deal with the maintenance and theft risk.

It's £20 cheaper, though ebay have had two '10% off promos' in the last week, so could be more than that.

In my Evans you'd be lucky to get the bike out of the shop, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just sat on the shop floor, like any other bike.

There are photos there & it looks new and unridden to me.

I would say the 42t rather than 48t chainring, cassette rather than freewheel, extra gear, wider gear range, bar shifters rather than thumb shifter, and 1.5kg weight saving make it a fair bit better.

That Btwin bike is another disposable bike after you wear out the rear wheel.

In my post on the OPs first enquiry, I wrote:

"Do you have a bike re-cycling centre near you? Try contacting your local council or maybe a google search.

If you do, then give them a visit. You should be able to pick up a good second hand refurbished bike well within your budget and you will be doing some good as well. Something like an old style steel frame, no suspension mountain bike would be very suitable. You can add your already owned accessories."

This was obviously ignored, along with all the other advice. I see that above, Paulatic has also recommended the local bike recycling place http://recyke-y-bike.org/shops/

You could get a suitable bike at a suitable price, get training to do repairs, or get them to do it at reasonable rates, etc.

This Pinnacle is ex-display and has not been ridden, but does have some light cosmetic damage from transit and storage, please see images.

Can someone suggest me a new bike to buy? My budget is max £250 (can go up to £300 but prefer something cheaper). I will want to pay monthly under 0% interest free finance.

I will be using the bike for delivering (ubereats, deliveroo, stuart etc). Going to be looking to use the bike at-least 5 days a week for about 4 hours a day approx.

You don't say where you are, but I would look for a bike hub, community run bike scheme, charity, second hand shop, etc. that has refurbished bikes. You are likely to get more for your money that way.

If you are going to be cycling that much, I think it will be worth your while to learn to do repairs and maintenance for yourself. Park Tool https://www.parktool.com/ has good videos on-line. https://sheldonbrown.com/ has good compilation of general technical information. Between the two, most people can learn to fix most things on a bike. It's also possible to get introductory bike mechanic courses for free in some areas.
