Has Anyone (Actually) Seen a Ryde Sputnik Rim
Has Anyone (Actually) Seen a Ryde Sputnik Rim
The reason I ask is that they seem a bit elusive.
Most websites eg Spa are still showing Rigida (the previous manufacturer). Other sites say delivery some time in the future. My LBS seems to be having difficulty getting a Ryde one.
They are shown on the Ryde website.
It just made me wonder if anyone had actually seen a Ryde one.

Yep, I’ve a pair that Spa supplied earlier in the year.

32 or 36 hole in 700C both black and silver are showing as in stock at distribution. What are you looking for?

I've got a pair of 26'', 36 hole SSC wheels, had them about 2 1/2 years, very strong things, well pleased with them.

Spa's website isn't renowned for reliability, they list the 26" as Rigida, but the photo has a Ryde label, not that it matters...

SJS don't seem to stock the 26" but have the 700C, I've had one from them.
Re: Has Anyone (Actually) Seen a Ryde Sputnik Rim
I know that they are available, but everything on the web looked like old Rigida stock, so I wondered if anyone had seen Ryde ones.
My confusion came from the label. To me the one shown on the sites eg Spa looked like they had the old Rigida label. The writing was too small for me to see that they had used the same (similar) label but changed Rigida to Ryde.
I was looking for a label like they show on the Ryde website https://www.ryde.nl/sputnik.
Anyway, good to know that they are still making them.

yes I just checked and I have seven with 'ryde' branding.
Most vendors probably have not updated the photo; it is after all the same rim from the same factory just with a slightly different sticker on it.
cheers

I'll have to go & check the "bike in the shed" but I'm pretty sure the Sputnik rims on that are "Ryde" branded & they are from at least from 2016 when the wheels were re-built with new rims.

Mine were from SJSC in 26" / 36 hole. I have done a couple of years towpath commuting on them now c.6000 miles?

Just to even things up, I see Paul Hewitt has them listed as Ryde but with a Rigida photo...

I got one from Spa at the beginning of this year and it has a Ryde label. But does it matter which label it has? Same firm, same factory.
