When that tanks, as it's more than starting to do, then the lady of ample girth will be tuning up.

It's going down like a lead balloon currently,so it won't be long your right

Utterly baffling. I thought it was the Mexicans who were supposed to be paying for this wretched Wall thingy...

Or ... did he mean to say, he needs this $5bn to fund Wall Street  ? If so, then they are in trouble.....

A tricky one. I don't want to appear to be letting the orange idiot off the hook - but Ballsonaro does appear to be ten times worse. Time to fear - not only for the Amazon - but for the entire planet. Just as well I shan't be around for too many more decades longer... :(

I expect to see more and more (and probably worse) than Bollsonaro as the whole world lurches head long to the far right, self interested, anti global, climate denying lunacy.

When will it stop? Not until there's a catastrophe, or another war (global or local). I see the Russians were war gaming limited use of tactical field nuclear weapons in a European conflict recently. From there on in there's no way back.

And our great 'ally' in Trump and US will be arms folded, tut tutting, just like they were in the 39-45..

now we see the extent of his madness?

"Trump ready for US shutdown to last 'for years'"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-46763940

I would have thought that he woould therefore be a risk to national security and justification to have him impeached?

wouldnt it be gratifying to see his butt kicked out of the Whitehouse?

The Tipping Point is nigh

The Guardian showed a photo of the old America, the PotUS and his old white men, and a photo of the new America, Ms Pelosi with diverse new female Congresspersons and their children and grandchildren

Does the US of A have anything equivalent to our Mental Health Act? And if so can a person be Sectioned under it?

So the Shut-Down drags on. Trump really is an egotist isnt he inflicting such financial hardship on so many. How on earth does a montrosity like that get to such a powerful position? makes you lose faith in democracy?

It varies form state to state, but most states have a law that allows a judge to require someone to be institutionalised for mental health care.

I'm no Trump expert, but essentially it seems he's trying to what every other western democracy its doing, reduce immigration. With such vast border territories and such a determined criminal gang culture in Mexico a wall is probably the best option.

Britain is seeking to do exactly the same thing with Brexit. Wev don't need a wall though, we have the English channel. To pretend the two are not the same is to ignore what's happening throughout Europe and the first world.

But there are fewer people crossing the Border, by all statistics. The issue of the moment seems to be legitimate asylum seekers in the form of families who are presenting themselves to Border Officials, and who, under international law, have to be admitted and processed. Interview at 8.15 on Today refers.

Soon put a stop to THAT once we've got rid of EU law. Regain full control over who comes in - and who we decide to deport and never mind niceties like citizenship: wrong colour, away with 'em. That's what many Brexit supporters really voted for and who are we to deny the voice of the people?
