Some of these kids seem to have no chance. I had two Aunties who lived in Markhouse Road and my Uncle was Waltham Forest's first Mayor, the area must have gone right down now.

I was with you 'til the final sentence. If nothing else, he would be a petty criminal, amongst many, that's all.

Gosh! Some have decided that this child was a) a criminal b) with a knife and c) not worth much sympathy.

He nay have had a moped which he should not have driven. But they police have not said it was stolen or that he had a knife.

That makes him a criminal as also does riding the moped. So you think kindly of those car drivers who ride around with no tax or insurance or license? shake the hands of the next such driver who crashes into you... There is nothing more that I fear in London coming across these junveniles who have no grasp of what they are really doing. They are a menace.

What sort of person rides a moped with a helmet undone? One who is used to taking it off to avoid police pursuit perhaps. Just another circumstantial point which makes people suspicious.

He was victim.
One, his upbringing and the place where he lived.
Two, he was a young lad and tragically stabbed to death.

When I was fourteen, I was at home at 6.30pm doing homework or watching the telly or playing with my Meccano sets, or maybe in the summer months out riding my bike. Usually in bed fast asleep by 9pm.

The signs are that this lad was doing a few things we would find unacceptable. But he was 14 and lived in a place where boys commonly get drawn into crime. I made some bad choices at his age and I lived in a much easier environment.

The question is,why?
The answer is a total lack of opportunities and a meaningful future for youngsters like Jayden Moody,contrasted by the immediate easy money and prestige of crime available to them.

I made some bad choices at his age and I lived in a much easier environment.

Me too,but it never got so bad.
