Man in a white suit.

Post by Tangled Metal »

After reporting on 18 wars without serious harm he gets taken out by luggage at an airport.

I hope he's getting over it, his accident. That's Martin Bell OBE I'm referring to.

Just heard an interview with him on R4.

He should have been wearing a helmet.

He's old. And sadly that does mean that he is now more likely to have falls that result in broken bones. When he was younger he might have avoided the fall altogether. If he had tripped, as a younger person he would have been quicker to react and fall in a more harmless way. And even if he had hit the ground his bones would have been stronger. It's a bummer getting old.

A lady of advancing years (whom we've known for yonks) said to me once, "Old age isn't for wimps."

Very true, I reckon.

Hi
That was a great film- in the 1950s many films portrayed unions in a negative light eg the one based in Clydesise namely "I am alright Jock" .
