Anyone done a bungee jump off of Calstock viaduct yet? The Tamar is probably quite bracing this time of year

Not sure anyone has done.
Folk walk over it on an evening on their way back to Bere Alston after a night out in Calstock. Last train is 10pm or so heading back to Plymouth.
Also, when the railway line was celebrating its 100 anniversary in 2008, you could apply to walk over it legally - escorted by Network Rail people. We did it and it's surprisingly high-walled. Sitting in a train going over, you can see very well, but at walking height, the wall is maybe 6ft high and some people had to be lifted up to see!

The viaduct is constructed of concrete blockwork and the wall doesn't seem to have mortar in the gaps between the blocks. There's maybe half an inch gap on the vertical sides of the blocks, and you can see through - but restricted.

That's a very good point ...... but .......
Mrs Mick F has suggested I make some pogo sticks, but I had to correct her because the springs aren't compression springs but stretchy ones ................ or whatever the opposite of compression is.

Mentioned on another thread ........ we have a Betamax machine in the loft. Original box and original instructions. I think we have a few Betamax tapes too.
Word processor up there too. Sort of electronic typewriter with an internal memory and will take a 3.5" floppy disk.
Suitcase full of cuddly toys.
WW1 bayonet.
Descant recorder from my school days.
Two pasting tables.
My old RN uniforms.

Not many personally as I rarely read a book. There's three on the coffee table in front of me ready for me to open them. Had them for months.

Yes, but, those springs will compress as well as extend.
My springs will only extend.

I like the idea of a swing using the springs for "ropes". Trouble is, if you bounce too much, the springs will unhook if you bounce too high. I'll try and find a way of securing them.

My dad used to collect Cattistocks. They are IIRC (for those who haven't read 'The Meaning of Liff') pieces of wood, frequently misshapen, covered in paint and containing or having once contained screws or nails. He had at least 20 when we cleared out his garage.
