I've used Mapometer on and off for some years but of late I'm finding that creating tracks using the Draw Route feature and with Follow Roads selected, the routing is including footpaths, bridleways and other ways that are DEFINITELY NOT road riding territory.(I suspect it's been like this for some while but have previously put it down to my error).
I have emailed their admin but no response as yet, so:
1. Is this shortcoming just me, or have otherss noticed, or indeed is there a work-around?
OR
2. Recommend me an alternative that is useable in the UK and Europe.
Many thanks
Mapometer - what else is there?
Mapometer - what else is there?
Without my stoker, every trip would only be half a journey

Never heard of this site before, but took a look.
The routing leaves a bit to be desired, not least of which sends you down the wrong way down one-way streets.

+1 for Plotaroute. You can select routing type, foot, cycle/path or road.

You'll never know if you don't try it.
Re: Mapometer - what else is there?
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions - plotaroute looks particularly interest and I've created an account.
I'll also take a look a cycle.travel and bikehike too (but a guy can only take so much of this tech stuff in, in one go!).

I've always found mapometer to be good - have you set it to 'cycling mode'?
Re: Mapometer - what else is there?
hi @fastpedaller, Yes, set to cycling mode - as you can see in the pic, the plot takes one down footpaths - argh!
Without my stoker, every trip would only be half a journey
