Trike on Flixbus

Post by climo »

Has anyone put their trike on a Flixbus back from Austria / Eastern Europe to a channel port? Folded they just fit under the "special luggage" size limit and I'm sure if there is an issue a bung to the driver will sort it out? Love to trike back but we don't have the time.

What’s their written policy - might need to have it a bag?
A shortcut has to be a challenge, otherwise it would just be the way. No situation is so dire that panic cannot make it worse.
There are two kinds of people in this world: those can extrapolate from incomplete data.

Not clear. Just says "special luggage up to 240cm h,l,w combined and 30kg. Will take bikes but not electric bikes, tricycles can't by carried as bicycles. If we fold them and wrap the chainset thereby hiding the motor and put the batteries and seat with the panniers in big chinese bags as normal luggage it's worth trying. As a backstop we plan to leave the car in Holland so if it proves impossible we do have an out

I used to get my ICE trike on intercity trains without any hassle from the staff by folding it and then packing it into a Cinelli lightweight bike bag.
The bag is big enough so the trike ended up sitting on one wheel with the frame diagonally across the bag.
It's not optimal but the bags also just light enough so it's possible to roll it up and carry it on a ride to/from the station.
Can you get something like this for the end of the ride ??

That way it not a trike but just a big heavy bag ......... :D
