How can you collect two bits of info about people if they can only select one option? And there's a further question in your post that isn't covered by your poll. ie "Why do so few members of this forum submit messages?"

First time I have tried a survey: this one is factual rather than opinion. But I cannot both state my membership status and age group. Should be two separate questions,I assume.

And what about those whose membership has lapsed especially since the rebranding.
At the last count:- Peugeot 531 pro, Dawes Discovery Tandem, Dawes Kingpin X3, Raleigh 20 stowaway, 1965 Moulton deluxe, Falcon K2 MTB dropped bar tourer, Rudge Bi frame folder, Longstaff trike conversion on a Giant XTC 840 :D

That would be "I am not a full member of Cycling UK / CTC". Happy to help. :-)

I have to agree with Paulatic that the survey is pants. Badly-thought-out surveys really irritate me. Tip to would-be surveyors: at least try it out on yourself (and preferably a friend or two) before you release it to the world.

I can fix the poll, so that people can choose age group & membership status, but it will reset the voting.

While consideration is being given to that, I'm pretty sure we've had a thread about possible reasons for people registering then not doing much posting. I think it had some factual explanations from both Fonant and Graham. Joining to use the classified ads sections was one example IIRC

A couple of earlier threads:

I think this must be the one I had in mind earlier

Here's another covering the topic (I think) from a different angle

I'm not sure it's going to tell you anything interesting, though. Mostly it'll just tell you what sort of person is likely to (a) click on and (b) respond to a poll about the membership of this forum. So if you want to find out the demographic of a very thin slice of two-wheeled navel-gazers…

I've got five quid on "men within ten years or so either side of retirement age who have fairly recently changed their membership status or have considered doing so" ;)
