Intermittently slow forum
Re: Intermittently slow forum
I'm feeling fine thank you!
Had my 'flu jab yesterday too, so I'll be hunky-dory for the rest of the winter as well!

Just posted in Tea Shop.
My computer gave up after two minutes. Reported that Safari couldn't open the page.
I hit the back button and had another go with Submit, and it went instantly.

Glad I bought those Apple shares when I retired in 2004, 30 baggers! But… never bought an Apple product apart from a couple of s/h iPods from Ebay. Innovative products that seem to suffer from all sorts of weird problems. No problems with my Android devices or the Chromebook.

No problems this evening.
It's still the same Apple device, but no problems ................... so something is intermittent.

No issues this evening, though I've not been on all day.

This is still happening from time to time.
Just now, and once this morning. Seems to be maybe 20% of the times I log in.

I suspect network issues, as the server "unexpectedly dropped the connection". This problem wasn't caused by the server not being found, or being too slow, it was because the connection was broken.
WiFi?
ADSL broadband?
I can recommend PingPlotter for diagnosing network problems: https://www.pingplotter.com/download/macos
If you run that next time you spot slowness, or have it running before you try logging in each time, it'll tell you what the route from your machine to the server looks like. You need to look for slow links, and/or packet loss starting at a particular link.

ucp.php?mode=login
This page always comes up straight away. It's only after putting in my username and password, then selecting Login, that it fails.
Thanks for the info and advice. I'll have a play.

No probs with the internet or any website to my knowledge.
Just this one every now and then.
Maybe I should stay logged in permanently?
