So they said. Ruddles County was meant to have used the original recipe when brewed by Morelands. The taste said otherwise.
Youngs decided to sell their brewery site for development. They kept their pubs and had the beers brewed by Charlie Wells so not really an acquisition by Wells.

It seems that this longwinded thread has been reduced to its absolute quintessence: Chats about pubs and breweries.

Its not working class Brexiters who are fundamentally stupid, short sighted and sociopathic, it's people who continue to post increasingly arcane and tangential references to a fantasy Brexit in order to have a reason to type. Or five fingers on each hand.

Get a life. This thread is done, kaput. I'm out.

I call for a moratorium ban on this thread. I once considered it a nominally useless waste of time. I no longer think in those rosy terms.

It has no relevance nor interest to anyone but the few competing voices for a pitiable point score off one another.

If you don't like gormless, gut feeling 'I voted for Brexit cause I felt like it' Leavers, let them be.

Its like watching grown men kicking a three legged dog. The pack of hungry hound Remainers, circling the lone mongrel, wounded leaver. Most of these threads are like watching live cruelty to dumb animals.

A joke is a joke. A 1000 pages? Enough already.

If we're all hounds and mongrels, does that make you the "grown men"? That's very insulting and I'm glad you're not the moderator!

This thread will probably resume useful life when something else develops about Brexit. I'm surprised there's not more about Greyling's Great British Ferries, but so be it. Maybe we all agree that one was a farce from end to end?

I'm afraid you'll be part of the 'grown men' kicking the three legged dog varietal.

Any 'usefulness' evaporated long ago, with fixations on the 'war', and hop brewed beer.

Beer isn't brewed from hops.

Yes, I understand that. It is my opinion that your labelling these millions who disagreed you as "stupid" is lazy, uninformative, and counterproductive.

It's not because they disagreed with me. It's because they voted for Brexit to makes things better for them when it will actually make things worse. That seems fairly simple to understand though you seem incapable of doing so.

Uh huh. Presumably all down to my stupidity, right?

I've no idea but you said it so I'll just have to take your word for it.

Brexit - A specific type of fart; the kind emitted in the naïve belief it's "better out than in", but which has disastrous, unforeseen repercussions.

Gary Younge has a good article in the Guardian suggesting that b***t voters desire to be free but a bit poorer may be understandable
Most uk residents have more wealth and possessions than they need, I think
Could be good if economic growth, land take, increase in use of resources are slowed/stopped

As a footballer said, 'one can only eat one steak and drive one rolls'
bp suggests, one could even keep the rolls a few years longer before upgrading to an x-trail

Trouble is that there are (as always) this who will abuse things to their advantage - Rees -Mogg for instance is set to make millions from the chaos, as are so many of the other more rabid pro-Brexit MPs

This will be t the further detriment of those less well offf

... and there lies the main issue, IF you have the ability to buffer yourself from the costs of Brexit, fine, but with meat up by 44% and clothing by 23%, that is not so easy for anyone on the breadline, and will put many, many more into food poverty..... but never mind they will have a very nice border

That's a great argument for Brexit, and I might have voted for a plan like that.

It wasn't, however, an argument being made by VoteLeave or Leave.EU, and it seemed not to be on the minds of the people selected for vox-pops. If anyone wants to promote this new post-hoc rationalisation, they can do so, but we'd need to go back and organise the whole thing from scratch, with a fresh public debate on this new low-energy low-consumption society, and how it mioght be done without complete social collapse.

EDIT: This 'poor but 'appy' Brexit wasn't promoted by the right or the left - the latter being interested in state supported industry. Historically, the Greens have promoted that sort of Brexit, but at the time of the referendum they decided they'd prefer to remain, I suppose because they see the EU as a more likely source of environmentally friendly policies.

"Most uk residents have more wealth and possessions than they need, I think" If someone gets only their minimum contracted hours, say 25, then that pays only their rent in the SE. Zero hours contract, then often have next-to-nothing, never mind more than they need.

Tell it to those on minimum wage spending up to 60% of their income on ONE room. Most? No. Many? Not in most areas. Some? Yes.

Why the Backstop is unfair and the hard supporters of brexit are right in resisting it

Unlike the GFA where every one stood to gain, the end of violence, the backstop is different.

The UK derives few benefits, other than the GFA, from remaining in the backstop and in fact it damages the UKs long term interests and life outside the EU.

On the other hand it meets the requirements of the EU perfectly - meeting the demands of the GFA and also protecting the single market dogma

Thus any alternative to the backstop has to be ATLEAST as good ie perfect in the EU's view It has no incentive to accept any soln worse than it

The EU may thus be inclined to set an impossibly high bar to agree to end it - that is the growing realisation in the supporters of brexit camps? A valid worry.

What we need is a soln that is in the interests of all partys to remove asap? The "Backstop" is not that. ( Goodness knows why Mrs May agreed to it)
