My summer bike came out 20th April last year and went into hibernation 10th October.
I did 871 miles on it, whereas my bikes with mudguards a lowly 2577. (approximately :P )

Only have the 1 road bike and that's always got mudguards on, so used all year round.
The trike tends to be a fair weather machine, or for when its snowing

Cleaned the rear dérailleur on the "summer" bike today - just in case.
Might pump the tires up as well - just in case.

Checked the records and the earliest I got the bike out was 14th Feb' 2016. Although a month passed before it re-surfaced again that year.
Generally it's middle of March before it usually appears.

Was out in the car today and the roads were wet but, as far as I know, it hadn't rained. :?
In fact some parts where there was shade were still wet mid' afternoon.

Well, had my first "summer ride" today

Blue skies, no wind, by mid morning warm enough for nothing more than a shirt! (Nb. Obviously I was wearing underwear, trousers et al!). First ride since at least November in which it felt worth while heading out of the district and doing some distance, rather than doing a circular ride with a quick "escape" route back home available.

Enjoyable; even had the classic summer "roadies" overtaking me downhill, prior to my passing them at twice their speed on the 1000' climb, other side of the valley (Nb. They were struggling  )

Shorts and long sleeve for me today though I ride in shorts a fair bit in the colder months anyways, it was quite breezy here and quite cold on the skin tbh despite the sun, I don't know what temp it was but forecast said about 11C max for us. I must be getting soft after 30 years in the South

Had the carbon 'summer' bike out for first time since whenever it was last and though the lanes were wet in places and a ton of stones/flint everywhere the tubs stood up well, I even managed to get up the slopes in a much higher gear, I always forget what an advantage the bestie has even over my lightweight winter/audax when it comes to going up the hills. 8)
