Sir Bradley Wiggins' one-hour world record will be challenged by Belgium's Victor Campenaerts on 16 or 17 April.
Briton Wiggins set the mark at 54.526km in London on 7 June, 2015.
Campenaerts, 27, will make his attempt at the Bicentenario velodrome in Aguascalientes, Mexico, which has hosted numerous track record attempts because it is at an altitude of 1,800m.
The 27-year-old covered 55.089km at the Bicentenario velodrome in Mexico - 563m more than British rider Wiggins managed in London 2015.
