Good luck to Ian To, and indeed anybody else who plans a record attempt this year. My only plea is please, pretty please keep us armchair supporters updated with progress. We are on your side.

Apologies if this is just me being dull-witted, but what the significance of "Project 44"? IIRC, Ian To's schedule for last year's attempt was 44 hours but MB's ride was well inside that time.

Project 44 im guessing is just leftover from last year. They need project 43 now!

The twitter feed of Ian is active today while out training.

Fair play to him for having another go.

There was something on Twitter last summer (when he did his second attempt) suggesting that they should change to Project43. I can't remember much of the answer, other than they wanted to keep the name as it was.

Today he’s Knocked 15 minutes off course record for 90ml trip. Broke Strava segment KOM by minutes in the process. Impressive stuff but is it appropriate for a LEJOG? time will tell.

I’ve seen nothing. Not even sure where PVT got that info. I found it odd to announce a day 10 days ahead. Weather Forecasts are good but not that accurate.

I'm not the quickest of thinkers these days but I interpret this to mean he's nearly 24 hours into the attempt.

Same as last year he kept everything in secret mode. I recall people asking him for his schedule 3 days before the off and were ignored. I don’t think RRA were notified then but don’t quote me.

Hi there - trying to provide a little info on the paperwork:

Ian, and any other RRA aspirant(s), has to submit a notice and schedule to Brian Edrupt who is the RRA records secretary. On the notice the aspirant specifies the first possible start day, which for Ian is tomorrow. But the attempt is immediately postponed until you then notify the actual day that you intend to ride. This must be done at most 48 hours before departure. Note: The start time is fixed to what you have on your schedule - for Ian, 0530. Ian has not yet specified his actual departure day.

Ian has schedule this time for a total ride time of 42.06 which would mean an arrival at John O'Groats at 23.36 the day after he leaves. On the way past his schedule has a 24 hour mileage of about 516 miles. At JOG, he is then planning a 90 minute stop before continuing on for the 1000 mile record.
