Why has the nozzle on my Camelbak bottle turned pink?
Last year I bought 2 Camelbak Podium bottles, blue bottle and lid with a clear white nozzle. On the bottle that gets most use the nozzle has gradually turned bright pink! It is only used for water and, no, I don't wear lipstick! Has anyone else had the same issue or know what's causing it?

Agitate, educate, organise.

Red biddy will do that.
Have we got time for another cuppa?

Washing things in the dishwasher can discolour them. The colour can somewhat depend on the dishwasher and the cleaning agent that you use. Most of my plastics gradually turn orange from being washed in the dishwasher.
If you don't put them in the dishwasher, maybe you should.

Probably this, the same cause of the pink films found in bathrooms:

Hmmmm... Pink algae sounds rather disturbing I may give up using it! What puzzles me though is that I have had other Camelbak bottles that have seen a lot more use and also been used for energy drinks and have had no problems with them.

Milton fluid will cure it if it’s bacterial. The stuff they use to sterilise baby bottles.fill the bottle and squirt through the teat.

It's probably the sun wearing off bleaching or a normal chemical reaction. White clear plastics often discolour if outside a lot.

Stop drinking red wine when out on the bike

Are you aware that you can remove the nozzle bit from the valve? It does take a bit of wiggling to get it off but makes it easier to clean out the inside when the need arises.

I think I'd change my drinking bottle!
Do you wash it after every day's use?
I've never had anything pink, but I left my water bottle on the bike once, when I put it away in the shed and it was left there for a fortnight in summer when I was on holiday - a green bloom appeared inside the bottle.
As suggested above I used Milton sterilizing tables and all was well.

To prevent algal growth as well as cleaning you need to let the wet surfaces dry completely between uses.
