Aircraft museum close by is quite interesting.
Edited- Carry more food and get in the habit of eating regularly where ever you are!
Don't forget drinking as well, skip on either and you will suffer.

Just bumped into wimps lejog old man on a bike Ken lovely to see him and chat for a couple of miles.

This stretch is the worst so far mile after mile of nothingness.

Long slog from Carlisle to Abington is the hardest yet
Shap yesterday was easier!

Don't mind proper hills but slogs onto 20mph wind is no fun!!!

2hours to paisley!

Conclusion to day 5

Puncture between Abington and lesmahagow quickly sorted prob pinch flat.

Pasties and grapes. At Tesco Lesmahagow.

Took the road from Lesmahagow to strathaven then paisley wind still blowing strong on the nose!

Hard work and then into east Kilbride etc. Road surfaces were dire.

Tomorrow up the a82.;

Day 6

Left paisley at 8.30 having had breakfast with relatives.

Rode into paisley on the disused railway line and then dropped down into paisley then Renfrew to pick up the ferry across the clyde.

I then serendipitously met an old chap named Roy who showed me the ncn74 route up to balloch we had a nice chat and was good company.

After a hot choc at Balloch

I pressed on around loch Lomond stopping for a ham and cheese panini at Tarbet cafe on the loch.

Then headed up to Crianlarich stop at the toilets opposite the Best Weston hotel and a bottle of pop in londis

I left in good spirits aiming to catch up with a couple of Dutch tourists with 4 panniers each on koga mita bikes but didn't see them they were looking for a quiet route. I didn't see them.

The start of the climb over rannoch moor was pleasent with fantastic views over the Moors and mountains with a following wind but as I turned the bend to come down to glencoe the wind picked up and it was a slog till I passed the Glencoe ski resort. Once through the gap on the rocks it freed up and I defended with my best Peter Sagan bike impersonation.

Made it into Glencoe indie youth hostel by 6 pm and back up to Crianlarich Inn for Aberdeen Angus burger, I was tempted by the game pie but thought it BB might be too rich.

Tomorrow a longer but flat ride up to Tain.
